Expanded Color Gamut Printing - Wednesday 2:15 - 5:30

Expanded color gamut printing and color reproduction with CMYK-OGV inks. The benefits for printing and proofing in commercial printing and package printing to reduce costs and improve sustainability and environmental impact. The session will review the concepts and color science behind this development followed by hands-on practical review of ECG software and print samples applicable to spot color and PANTONE reproduction.

Bio

Dr. Abhay Sharma has a BS in Imaging Sciences from the University of Westminster and a PhD from Kings College London. He has worked at FujiFilm, UK and taught at Western Michigan University. Sharma is currently a Professor in the School of Graphic Communications Management at Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University) and author of a textbook Understanding Color Management, 2018, Wiley. He has conducted expanded gamut software and hardware reviews and published a White Paper - Expanded Gamut Study, 2019.



The Inter-Society Color Council advances the knowledge of color as it relates to art, science, industry and design.
